After that was about the time that the Disney Radio people came out and led everybody in the “Cha Cha Slide.” Raven-Symoné finally came on after that. Raven-Symoné put on a good show. She danced a lot, talked to the audience some, answered some questions, and sang a lot of songs. The set list included Superstition, Some Call It Magic, Grazing In the Grass, Anti-Love Song, That Girl, Girl Get It, In the Pictures, Typical, This Is My Time, and of course Double Dutch Bus, as well as some others.
Along with the slide show of pictures from the show, I was also able to get some fair-quality video of the performance from my still camera. You can see two clips from my current favorite Raven-Symoné song “Anti-Love Song” and one clip of “Girl Get It.” The “Anti-Love Song” clips have better sound and relatively poor video, while the “Girl Get It” clip has pretty nice quality video and relatively poor sound.

…but not always the domino effect. I love the game of dominoes. This is a love that I got from my father. I can be entertained for hours playing dominoes. I do not mean the match the numbers kind, but the kind with score. I do not so much like the domino effect, though, especially when it involves a series of negative events in my life.

Never in my life have I had so much trouble getting a blood sample taken. I felt bad enough that my father took me to this doctor’s appointment because today was his birthday. It was the only appointment that I could get, though. I had already rescheduled once. I took him to lunch afterwards. So, [...]

So, like I mentioned in the last post, I am going through some things. It’s one thing after another, like a domino effect. But, I will survive…
While there are many things that help me through time periods like this, part of my survival is music. So, today, I have listened to one playlist probably six or seven times. I call it my “Help Me Jesus” playlist. There are only eight songs on the playlist so far. Perhaps if there were more, I would have listened to it a few less times.

So, anyone who knows me (which is very few people), knows that I am going through some things right now, but who isn’t? The things that I am going through have caused me to question some aspects of my life, but, ultimately, they have also led me on a quest to have more focus in my life. As a part of the road to a more focused life, I have started doing a daily devotional. I am using Praying for Purpose for Women: A Prayer Experience That Will Change Your Life Forever (Pathway to Purpose) by Katie Brazelton. This is a sixty day discovery devotional. My mom has a copy of this book, but I do not think that she has ever read it. I have looked at it several times and considered borrowing it, but finally broke down and spent a hard earned $4.99 to get a severely discounted, brand new, hard cover copy of my own on Amazon about a month ago.

Since “I Decided” got my ears open, I wanted to learn more about the upcoming album and how true it would stay to this form. In my reading around, I found that, in addition to her official page, Solange is also hosting a blog.
I read through the blog to see what I could find out and found an unreleased song on Solange’s blog. I will listen to any free song once, but this one is actually worth the listen. The song is called F*@k The Industry (Signed Sincerely), and it is Solange’s two cents on conforming to the industry standards.

I recently got back in touch with a friend from college that I had not spoken with in several years (Ah, the wonders of Facebook). My friend and I chatted a little bit to catch up on each others lives, and upon hearing about my work situation, he asked, “How can you have so many jobs?”
I thought about that, and, honestly, I still do not have an answer. I guess my reply would be that I do not have enough jobs because this week, I am supposed to start job number four.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SHAYNA! Today is a phenomenal woman’s birthday. If you know her, then please give her a call or email to say hello and happy birthday. I know that she wanted to come home for her birthday, but I do not think that she was able to do so. Either way, I know [...]
