I did not get a chance to do this yesterday, but better late than never, right…

It has been almost a year since my dear friend Matthew Edward Scheer decided that he had had enough and left us. It was October 16th, 2007, but It still feels like it was yesterday. I still think about him every day. I still have those moments when I think “I have to tell Matt,” or “I wonder what’s up with Matt,” and then I am reminded that he is gone. It hits me like a ton of bricks each time.

So, there was supposed to be a candlelight vigil at Sushi Itto in Hillcrest yesterday celebrating Matt’s 30th birthday, which would have been this past Monday (yesterday), October 13, 2008. Of course, I am here, so I was not able to attend. Still I wanted to show my ongoing love and regard for my friend. So, here is a candle for Matt. I miss you.
