Driving Chronicles #10: Give Me the Night…of Driving

So, after Robin Thicke, my friend made me drive.  I never get practice, especially at night, so I am not complaining. This was only my second time driving at night.  My standing question is “Why do the Suburbs not believe in street lights?!” It was so dark.

We started out in parking lots. I think she wanted to see how well I drove before we went on the road.  LOL I know that if I were her, I would not have felt good about going on the street with me.

I am not a terrible driver, but I am still learning. I still struggle with turns and getting quickly up to speed after turns, too. We drove for about an hour, mostly on a major highway. Even though it was late, there was still a considerable amount of traffic (mainly people going around me and passing me by).  :-) I was doing the speed limit most of the time, though.

I feel a lot more comfortable driving than I did before, though. I know that I  just need practice.  I had to stop the paid lessons for a while, and I do not know when, or if, I will be able to pick them back up again. That means that I am totally at the mercy of others to help me again–the same place that has led to expired permits in the past because I had not had enough practice to confidently take the road test.

I would say that I have only had five or six hours total driving practice since I got this permit. Still, that is about six times more than I have driven at all in my entire life up to this point. So, it is progress. I just have a long way to go and no one to really help me. Any takers?
