Precious moments in the life of Urs…

Ginuwine 4 Ur Mind

Not too long after I arrived at my parents house to celebrate Father’s Day, my sister asked me to go downtown to River Days with her so that she could see Ginuwine. So, I said “sure.” I was not all that excited about seeing Ginuwine, but I did want to go to River Days.

Because she asked me on the fly, I was not at all dressed for the occasion. I had to borrow some of her walking sandals so that I would not kill my feet walking in the stilettos that I wore earlier in the day.

We got downtown shortly before Ginuwine was supposed to take the stage. I gave my dollar to support the efforts and to get the button. On the way to the Bank of America stage, we passed by the rock band NUROKSOL, and they sounded pretty good. If we had gotten their earlier, I would have definitely stayed and listened to them. I will be looking more into their music.

When we arrived at the Bank of America Stage, the local artist Kjon was still performing. I had never heard of Kjon before today. I guess that is a shame. He is apparently played on local radio; however, I never listen to the radio.

Kjon has a nice voice, and sings well enough in person. You can explore his music on his Myspace Page or on his official site. We were able to hear two of his songs. I know that the last song was “On the Ocean,” but I have not figured out what the other song was. I know that it sounded like it had some children singing in the background. Maybe some of his fans can figure it out from that.

After that, there was an equipment change and then Ginuwine came out to sing. Ginuwine took us back down memory lane with songs like “Same Ol’ G,” “Pony,” “Hell Yeah,” “In Those Jeans,” and a few others. He also took time out to highlight four or five tracks off of his upcoming album. I was a little disappointed, as it seemed that the guy that was with Ginuwine did much more singing than the man himself did. I cannot remember the guy’s name, but he is an artist of Ginuwine‘s. He even got to sing his own song by himself. He sang all the hooks on Ginuwine‘s songs and a lot of the lyrics, too. As a result, it was kind of a lazy concert as far as Ginuwine was concerned (the other guy worked his butt off, though), but hey, it was free. (But, then again, I so remember how Jigga turned it out for free last year)

Once Ginuwine was done, we walked on the walk for a little bit and then came home. I was glad to enjoy the city in the summer, and with a little music.

Here are some pictures that I took with my phone:
