iPod Sync Is Complete
I finally regained access to my main computer and iPod after converting higher bit rate songs on it. iTunes finally showed “iPod sync is complete” around 1:10pm; however, when I tried to eject my iPod, I kept getting a message that iPod was still syncing. I just waited a few more minutes and then I was finally able to eject.
I was not done, though. I had actually added some music to my library after I started the conversion, and it, apparently, was not added to the original 5553 songs. Thus, I had to reconnect iPod again to convert about 22 more songs. That took another half an hour or so. Still, the whole process finished a day earlier than I expected, but four days is a long time.
Like I said in a previous post, part of the draw of iPod is the ability to have all of your music at your fingertips at any given time. Being stuck to my 4GB iPod nano, I was limited. During those four days, some random music popped into my head that I wanted to listen to while in the drought, but none of it was on my iPod nano. Here is a list of things that I can remember:
Always Will—Tweet
Hairspray Soundtrack
Movin’ On —Brandy
I Believe—R. Kelly
Carousel—Harris
Make You My Baby—Joe
Hi-Five Greatest Hits
Les Choristes Soundtrack—Bruno Coulais
When Will You Call—Bilal
Stop This Car—Michelle Williams
Wonderful—Ja Rule with R. Kelly and Ashanti
Everybody Up—Jahah
The Odd Couple Album—Gnarls Barkley
Chances Are—Johnny Mathis
So, you can see the kind of random stuff I may want to listen to at any time. Was it all worth it? Well, I went from having 10MB available to having 16GB+ available, so I think that it was worth it. Nevertheless, there is no more plugging in and syncing quickly, though. Anytime that I add new stuff to my library, I will have to sit and wait for it to convert. I add at least a few songs every week, usually. I just hope that I never have to restore this iPod at any point because then I will have to go through the whole conversion process again.
