Relief from the Kwame blues?
So, the same week that we had Obama in town and celebrated the work of Labor Unions, Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick resigned, finally. The mayor took a plea deal. In the end, he will serve 8 months in jail, pay the city back 1 million dollars over five years, and during this period he cannot run for office, receive his pension, and he loses his law license. Seems like he got off easy while we are left to clean up his mess. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of a good, new time for Detroit, The only scary thing is that Kwame already speaks of comeback. Click here to read more about his story.
