Precious moments in the life of Urs…

Spare

Bowling is not something that I do often, nor is it something at which I perform well. When I was a kid, I had my own ball and shoes and everything. I was still never good at it, though. Nevertheless, I like to bowl from time to time.

My younger sister wanted to go bowling as a part of her birthday celebration, so me, my parents, and two nephews went with her to Renaissance Bowling Center.

I had been to this bowling alley before with my sister on another one of her birthday celebrations. It is an African American owned business, within the city limits, housing forty lanes, a bar, food counters, a ball room for events, and a projection screen in front of the lanes where we watched my Alma mater, the University of Michigan, wipe the floor with UConn. Despite this, the place was pretty empty for a Saturday night.

For, some reason, from the time that we walked in to the time that we left, the music choice focused on a mixture of songs from Bone Thugs-n-Harmony albumsĀ  followed by a similar mix from Busta Rhymes albums. I am not exactly complaining about that, since I know most of the songs that were played (what does that say about me LOL), but the music was a blatant contrast to the sign above the lanes that reads “Renaissance Family Bowling.” Still, and especially since you can no longer smoke inside, it was a pretty decent bowling experience.

To show you how bad we all are, I scored highest in the first round at 101, beating my father by one point. The second time around, though, I did not even break 100, while my dad got something like a 128 and my sister beat me with a 92. Happy Birthday, Nicole! :-P LOL

All in all, it was a great time. Here are some highlights:

And, for your listening pleasure, because they started playing it and then skipped over it at the bowling alley :-x :

Look at Lil Bow Wow trying to be grown up. ROFL I wonder if he remembers this LOL:
