Take That Corvus
As usual, I have an excuse for not posting as of late, and, as usual, it is not really a good excuse. I have not been slacking off on other important things. I am keeping up with work, still doing my bible study, and still generally being productive. I am even reading some books, including a Christmas focused book called 25 Days, 26 Ways to Make This Your Best Christmas Ever. However, I must confess that a lot of my time has gone to playing games.
Since the post about the quest for Dragon Quest, I received my copy and started playing it. According to the time log, I have spent 72 hours of my life playing the game. I am sure some of that time is from me having the DS just sitting open and not really playing, but most of it is probably actual play time.
Last night, I finally beat the big boss, Corvus. For anyone interested, you can see what my party looked like as far as vocation, armor, and attributes in the pictures below. The only difference at the start of battle would be about 10,000 less xp for each character, which also resulted in a higher level for Quarren at the end of the battle.
I really, really enjoyed this game, and the great thing is that there is still more to do in the game. Speaking of more to do, my next priority in the game was to regain access to the Starlight Express. I already know that completing side quest 39, which involves fighting Lleviathan, the fifth or six boss for most players, a second time.
What baffles me though is that after fighting Corvus, who is supposed to be the toughest, I keep wiping out trying to fight Lleviathan again! I maybe wiped out (which is what it is called when all characters in your party die before the end of a battle) in this game two or three times during the entire main story. Maybe.
I do not remember wiping out when fighting Lleviathan the first time, but I am starting to wonder how I beat him in the first place. He is both tidal waving and swiping just about every turn, and multiheal can only do so much. It does nothing once your priest dies, which has been happening early in the round, despite the fact that he is not on the front line. I guess that I just have to keep at it.
