When Left To My Own Devices
I spend a good amount of time with my nephews on many Sundays. Today was no different. We usually sit and play games, eat, joke, etc. However, in between games, I got a little restless and decided that my youngest nephew and I should draw fourth of July fireworks pictures to celebrate the holiday.
Several of my nieces and nephews draw well, and this particular nephew has created his own character named Poaclit. Poaclit looks kind of like a moose man of sorts, and he shows up and a lot of random drawings that my nephew makes. Poaclit has been sort of a trademark of my nephew. My nephew is now eleven, but he created this character at least two years earlier.
I am so impressed by all of this that I asked my nephew to draw Poaclit as a character in the audience of my fireworks picture. I think that he was just being bashful, but my nephew claimed that he could not remember how to draw Poaclit. That was interesting since I remember him drawing a picture for my niece earlier this year that mainly had clowns in it. Poaclit was in this picture, and he was kind of “Where’s Waldo” style. You see why this is all so impressive to me. LOL Anyway, to try to see if my nephew would react, I said, “Fine I will just have to make my own character.” So…say “Hi.” to catman. Notice the contrasting expressions of the children in the picture. LOL
My nephew never did draw me Poaclit either.
