Precious moments in the life of Urs…

Yes, Macy. There is Beauty in the World.

If I am able to get past the first and maybe the second album, I still usually end up stopping buying an artist’s albums after the third. That is usually when they start to disappoint me.

There are only a few remaining artists whose records I still buy every time they release one. These artists so far include Brandy, Alanis Morissette, Jay-Z, Michael Jackson, until…and a few others. Erykah Badu fell off that list after the New Amerykah Part I. India.Arie and John Legend may or may not be off the list as well. We will see what happens with what they drop next. However, still remaining on the list is Macy Gray.

I have liked Macy from the very beginning. I thought that BIG was a great comeback album, and yes, there are even some indispensable songs on The Trouble with Being Myself. I even attended the Big and Heavy tour, which happened to be one of the best concerts that I have ever attended, despite the ridiculously small audience. The Brand New Heavies rocked it, and so did Macy.

Macy is set to release a new CD this year, and she already has a new single. I am so excited for the album. I love the new song, so I wanted to share it with you. Take a look/listen:

Ha! I read your blog (sometimes)! I was actually thinking about that earlier this week. I thought to myself, “I should read Ursula’s blog more.” So stop ending and beginning every other sentence with “…if you read my blog…” LOL! I’m not up on Macy Gray like you are but I do agree with you that Erykah Badu has fallen off and India.Arie and John Legend might be off the list (I really hope they’re not, crossing my fingers). :-p
